TIME LOOP
four gif-files, commissioned by hard//hoofd
These looped gifs respectively show every image I collected in a day, week, month and year in 2014. The more layers in a gif, the smaller the hole of the frame. The last gif consists of 946 layers, which is every image I collected that year.
At first I shrunk the size of the hole for practical reasons; the more images there were in a gif, the smaller I made the hole to control the size of the file by covering up more of the image. However, once I had done this, the shrinking hole became a representation of how memory focuses on involuntary details as a way to compress greater impressions that can be recalled or triggered later on.
