We don't have to be great artists like Fellini to smuggle some potency back from dreams. The Dream Machine experiments with the realm of dreams as a conduit for artistic methods of collective expression and exchange in guided as well as self-organizing iterations. One way to think together visually is by making drawings. A potent way to make drawings about things we remember from our dreams is to draw them while being blindfolded. This activates the looking within that is required to channel images, or prompts, from our dream-realm. This sensory restriction also resonates with the deactivation of the body's wilful movements that we experience during sleep. By blindly drawing these prompts together with others, navigating around each other in physical space and on a shared drawing surface creates the conditions and an atmosphere that facilitates collective thinking, which is fun and kind of addictive :) 🌀️
